REE is seeking a Project Manager - Software to support REE’s rapid growth


Role Summary

As Project Manager your role will be to develop, maintain and track the overall timing plan of our Application Software aligned with all stakeholder requirements including Customer and internal Teams. As Project Manager Software, you will be Managing using our tracking tools to release Application Software with documentation ensuring traceability and consistency of all our work products. You will be continuously evaluating risks and robustness of our deliveries, facilitating the resolution of issues and blockers. This role requires great communication skills, running daily meetings, reviews and reporting status to both internal and external Teams. You will be supporting the Management of both the Control Software development activities and the Testing Coverage strategy. You will provide process improvements following industry standards.


Responsibilities

Track Software releases

  • Monitor and track the development changes assigned to Software releases
  • Ensure that Software release includes all relevant fixes as agreed with the Project Management
  • Monitor and manage issues regarding affected Software releases and plan fixes in Software Releases aligned to Project milestones
  • Maintain Software release notes and documentation with traceability between changes, requirements, and issues
  • Manage in real time the Software release tracking in various view and forms across Teams

Create Timing plan

  • Design a robust software release process assessing timing and resources in alignment with Hardware Teams, Suppliers and Project milestones
  • Integrate timeline in our tracking system to monitor progress and resources
  • Visualize Software release milestones and development in Gantt charts
  • Compare development dates vs baselines to identify critical path and delays
  • Support other Teams and Program Management to maintain master project timing plans
  • Assess Risks and Robustness, resolve job stoppers
  • Track and facilitate job stoppers resolutions and high priority activities
  • Monitor and assess the level of confidence, robustness and completion of each issue or tasks delivered in Software releases
  • Anticipate potential shift of development activities to future Software Releases within the current Software development cycle
  • Assess the risks of potential delays and communicate to relevant stakeholders in advance and support preventive actions
  • Monitor delays in real time and update all relevant fields in our tracking system

Communicate

  • Represent the Control Team in Project meetings as required
  • Become the Control Team reference for Project Managers, external Suppliers and Customers
  • Cascade in weekly Team meeting relevant notes and communication from other Teams
  • Capture notes and provide feedback during the meetings
  • Support exchange of expertise from different disciplines including Vehicle Testing, Calibration, AUTOSAR, Functional Safety and software FMEAs

Make Dashboards

  • Create and report Key Performance Indicator with charts related to Software Development and Testing activities
  • Report the status and progress of activities into Program management and any other internal/external stakeholders

Support Testing Coverage

  • Support and monitor the progress, planning, traceability, and testing coverage of FuSa activities
  • Generate Testing Strategy documents
  • Capture relevant Test Case requirements from stakeholders and support classification in test coverage as required
  • Coordinate and track Test activities of software releases in facilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the execution of the Testing plan between Control Team, Simulation and Testing Team

Provide process improvements

  • Promote process improvements regarding Software planning and releasing
  • Develop strategies to improve timing plan estimation in iterations
  • Promote adoption of common processes across Teams following industry standards
  • Develop strategies to support Calibration Management process
  • Administer tasks for Project setup in Calibration area

Requirements

Education

Master’s in mechanical engineering, Electronics, Computer science, Automotive engineering, Aerospace engineering or similar.

Experience

At least 15 years working in the automotive OEM or tier 1 industry in a role of Manager or Project Lead in Application/Software/Electronics Teams

Essential:

  • Experience with ISO26262 at project, development or testing level
  • Experience in designing test coverage plans
  • Experience in development of process workflows
  • Exposure to Scrum or other Agile framework as coordinator or developer.
  • Experience or understanding of Scrum Master responsibilities
  • Experience with application or embedded software development process following ASPICE
  • Experience in planning Software activities and issue resolution
  • Experience with quality management, beneficial at Software level
  • Experience in Hybrid or Battery Electric Vehicles applications and components
  • Experience in managing project variants across multicultural Team in different locations
  • Experience in communicating with customers and project teams
  • Proven track record in project management, management or lead to production launch
  • ILR to live and work in the UK. REE do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships
