REE are seeking a Vehicle Test and Validation Engineer that will lead the evaluation, validation and contribute to the calibration of our revolutionary test vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation, validation and where required, calibration of test vehicles, according to established methods across all attributes
  • Interpret system and vehicle requirements to devise suitable written test procedures
  • Support test planning with the implementation of timing plans and provide realistic estimates of the time to complete tasks
  • Assist with the instrumentation, commissioning and documentation of test vehicles prior to application work commencing
  • Ensure good practice in preparation of tests and analysis of data
  • Produce technical reports in a timely and accurate manner to document test results
  • Required to travel to proving grounds and worldwide territories as required by test plans

Requirements

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in automotive or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in vehicle dynamics or performance testing in similar vehicle development roles especially of commercial vehicles
  • Knowledge of international test methods and OEM engineering specifications
  • Strong knowledge of using vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition, calibration and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of attribute targets delivery in physical vehicle development
  • Strong knowledge in performing tests according to industry standards including fault injection testing, in a variety of real world environmental conditions
  • Good knowledge of electronic, electrical and mechanical diagnostics
  • Possess a core understanding of modern automotive systems and components
  • Desirable to have by-wire tuning and EV knowledge and driving experience
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety practices and vehicle risk assessment
  • Excellent communication skills and cross functional working practice
  • A full valid UK driver’s license is required
  • ILR to live and work in the UK. REE do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships
