Driveline Lead Engineer

We currently have an exciting new position in our EV Engineering team. We are seeking an experienced Driveline Lead Engineer to support REE’s rapid growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Mechanical Design and Integration of Driveline System that includes EDU (Electric Drive Unit) and Driveshaft for REECorner units.
- Develop System and Component DFMEAs
- Establish Technical Requirements for RFQ and Define Design Specifications for Production
- Create Test Cases to meet Design Specifications and develop Design Validation Plan
- Lead Virtual and Physical Verification (Vehicle and Rig)
- Conduct Supplier Design Review ensuring requirements have been met for Technical Sign-Off
- Support Design Validation (supplier and vehicle test) and lead engineering sign-off.
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines, including suppliers, functional safety consultants and control & calibration engineers, to develop solutions and achieve the project requirements
- Support Quality Assurance activities such as APQP & PPAP
- Benchmarking Competitors and Market Leaders using the tool such as A2mac1
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or demonstrable experience
- Proficient and experienced as Lead Engineer for Development of Driveshaft/Driveline Parts within Automotive Industry
- Knowledge of Gear Design(helical & planetary) and Optimisation(macro & micro geometry)
- Knowledge of Bearing Life Analysis understanding of bearing types and basic parameters of its geometry
- Knowledge of mechanism and technology for different types of modern traction motors
- ILR to live and work in the UK. REE do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships
Experience of:
- Modelling of driveline or transmission systems in respect to bearings, shafts, gears and motor using system analysis tools such as Romax, MASTA, Kissoft/Gear or similar
- Durability, Robustness and Environment tests at Rig & Vehicle
- Definition of duty cycle and RLD using Miner’s rule and cumulative damage models
- NVH test & diagnosis and its correlation to the CAE analysis
- 3DExperience & CATIA V6
