HiL Development & Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Hardware In-the Loop development and test Engineer to add to our fast-growing R&D team. This role will be to develop, maintain and execute REE’s HIL within REE Control Software Team based in the UK and will involve hardware commissioning, issue analysis resolution, development of Models, integration of new and existing simulation plans, creation of system test cases, requirement review and test automation in the final product. As part of your testing activities, this role involves supporting the Calibration of our Software and Release process sign off.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, Design, Commission and Maintain the HIL HW and software setup to support the testing of features from the Controls team
- Coordinate HIL bench deployment and support for X-by-wire vehicle systems
- System requirement analysis and creation of systems test cases
- Test planning and managing test cases
- Work closely with Feature’s development owners to keep updated the testing strategy ahead of software releases
- Work closely with the Control and the Electronics Team to define interface specification and review of control strategies
- Development and execution of manual and automated test cases following requirements coverage strategy
- Develop Simulink Wrappers and models for integration of open and closed loops controllers
- Develop HIL rig supervisor controller and Calibration environment to support HIL test execution with tools ConfigurationDesk/ControlDesk/CANAPE/CANoe/IPG Carmaker
- Develop HIL rig simulation model with interface and plug-in concept to ease the integration of multiple simulation plants and controllers
- Design and execution of fault injection test for sensors, actuators, communication busses and other hardware components
- Execute fault matrix reactions strategy and OBD DTC testing
- Execution of regression testing
- Create result reports with ad-hoc documents in our traceability system
- Execution of test validation and verification of software releases at HIL rig
- Support issues resolution and bug fixing as required by the Team
- Analyse vehicle and HIL data log for issue route cause investigation
- Provide lead, guidelines and instruction to Control Team’s developers supporting HIL rig remote access
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of the HIL setup and Hardware following requirements update and evaluation
Requirements
