EDS Engineer – Electrical Distribution System

REE is seeking a EDS Engineer to support REE’s rapid growth. 


  • Lead and own specific families of harnesses LV and HV
  • Adhere to specifications and requirements while developing designs (REE design guidelines and system design specifications)
  • Track open design issues affecting responsible harnesses using the automated issue management system. Lead resolution and communication with relevant departments
  • Participate and represent EDS in package meetings relevant to specific programs
  • Collaborate with CAD engineers and systems engineers to ensure implementation of correct design solutions during program development, prototype and production build phases according to project timeline
  • Review componentry device specs and collaborate with component owners to check the device transmittal lists(DT s)
  • Work with the Schematics Engineers to correctly implement all devices to the schematics
  • Identify any special need for any sub-assemblies in the wire harness (e.g. Coax cable, Ethernet, USB, ) with support from systems engineers
  • Work closely with the harness suppliers and escalate any identified delivery issues to the Principal Engineer.
  • Maintain 2D drawing with routing and systems content and up-revise when necessary. Communicate all changes to the harness suppliers.
  • Participate in TVM, VA/VE and benchmarking activities and generate, and evaluate potential cost reduction ideas.
  • Take an active role in prototype harness and vehicle builds.


Qualifications/ Experience

  • Engineering Degree Qualified
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience preferably on electrical
  • Experienced in LV(12V&48V) and HV(400V)
  • Experienced in vehicle electrical architecture development from concept through schematics ,prototype to production drawings and build instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret vehicle wiring harness schematics and drawings
  • Experience of CATIA V5/V6 Electrical Workbench.
  • Ideal candidate comes from an automotive background with 1 full product lifecycle experience
  • ILR to live and work in the UK. REE do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships

Additional desirable requirements

  • Good understanding of Catia V5/V6 and 3D Experience
  • Proactive individual that can manage multiple EDS design issues coming from different departments
