We are currently looking for a Operations Site Manager – Contract Manufacturing to support REE’s rapid growth.

 

Overview

 

The Operations Site Manager will oversee all operations and assembly activity at the new vehicle assembly plant in Michigan, The operation will handle the full vehicle assembly of the REE P7-C class 3-5 commercial truck. The operation will handle the receiving & handling of all relevant truck components and sub-assemblies along with the REE P7 corner imported from REE in the UK. The factory will be receiving components from a global supply chain and include overseas and local supplied products that make up the truck.

 

The operation will include a complex mix of responsibilities in the form of contract manufacturers, and some supply chain supported activities from REE’s partner Motherson.

 

The plant will start to ramp up in Jan 2025 and reach monthly peak of 60 vehicles per month in the summer of 2025.

 

Essential role Functions

·      Manage the day to day operation including productivity, Quality, Safety, Delivery & Cost

·      Ensure daily production output targets are maintained and optimized

·      Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the CM to ensure productivity and quality is maintained efficiently and inline with the production plan.

·      Be the site champion for Health and Safety ensuring this is engrained culturally in the operation for REE and its onsite contractors. Ensuring that weekly and monthly reports are prepared and reported according to OHSHA standards

·      Lead onsite problem-solving activities (8D). Ensuring appropriate investigation of discrepancies, errors, complaints, failures with REE and ROUSH employee’s

·      Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to identify and implement all design and improvements to support manufacturing

·      Ensure effective inbound inspection is in place, managed and reported. Where applicable report non-conformance and enable follow-up.

·      Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

·      Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions with REE, ROUSH & Motherson stakeholders

·      Produce written reports and make presentations as requested Global Operations

·      Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

Requirements

·      Obtain a bachelor’s degree in an Manufacturing-related discipline, or gain equivalent experience (minimum 7 years experience at mid/senior level).

·      Experience working within vehicle assembly at recognized OEM.

·      Have experience of working in a complex relationship organization with contractors

·      Manufacturing engineering experience with assembly operations

·      Financial management & control of a complex operation

·      Experience of managing blue and white collar workers

·      Possess detailed knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949

·      Demonstrate an analytical and quantitative approach to problem-solving

·      Flexibility to travel occasionally

·      Flexibility to travel to REE UK

·      Understanding of vehicle builds and experience with vehicle buy off / final inspection

·      Critical organization and time management skills are necessary

·      Display self-motivation and goal orientation with a strong drive for success

·      Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

·      The Engineer should be assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcomes change with a Can-Do, Will-Do Attitude
