About The Position

REE is revolutionizing e-Mobility from the ground-up. Our disruptive REE-corners and fully flat, ultra-modular EV platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission specific EVs, EVs ‘Powered by REE’ will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo and batteries with the smallest footprint and help reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Brakes Engineer (6 months contractor) to support REE’s rapid growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of REE braking system components, which meet program-specific targets including functional performance, quality, cost and timing
  • Develop and monitor technical targets for integrating design, CAE, development, legal and performance criteria. 
  • Responsible for population and maintenance of brake system component BOM’s in PLM, and associated releasing activities. 
  • Provides support into braking system DFMEA. 
  • Provides input into mechanical DVP requirements and test rig procedures.
  • Responsible for DVP&R management of owned braking components
  • Responsible for technical Interface to component suppliers, surrounding systems/aggregates owners including packaging.
  • Support with vehicle testing and reporting activities
  • To provide support to other aggregates in the business to achieve release deadlines. 
  • Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost and weight. 


Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Science or related discipline
  • Experience of working in a complex engineering environment
  • Have proven experience of developing and delivery of braking system components from concept to production within an OEM or tier 1 organization. Including foundation brakes, electric park brakes, pipes and hoses. 
  • Experience of brake by wire systems, actuation and controls an advantage. 
  • Possess good understanding of braking system attributes, service implications, and manufacturing and assembly requirements. 
  • A good knowledge of rig validation methods and vehicle structural testing is an advantage. 
  • Understand what influence braking system design has upon the overall dynamic behavior of the vehicle. 
  • Have a good all-round engineering knowledge, i.e., material selection, tolerancing, FEA analysis, component manufacturing processes, quality control, etc.  
  • Project planning, DFMEA, DFA, DFM experience
  • Managing workload in a fast-paced environment with potential for changing priorities.
  • Working experience of Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Excel and Word
  • Be a team player with the ability to work alongside talented colleagues as part of a driven and dedicated team
