About The Position

REE is revolutionizing e-Mobility from the ground-up. Our disruptive REE-corners and fully flat, ultra-modular EV platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission specific EVs, EVs ‘Powered by REE’ will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo and batteries with the smallest footprint and help reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.


As an EDS Engineer you will be taking responsibility for bringing existing, prototype designs into mass production. You will conduct test and validation activities and define principles of wire harness design. You will evaluate the electrical architecture and electrical component designs for future projects. 


Key responsibilities:


  • Analyzing electrical architectures and components from EDS point of view.
  • Creating concepts of electrical schematics for new projects.
  • Contributing to design and verification of fuse boxes.
  • Performing power studies and ensuring EDS is designed to support the requirements.
  • Writing and executing DVP for wiring harnesses and schematics. Performing calculations, simulations, and physical testing.
  • Ownership of harness DFMEA.
  • Defining EDS design rules.
  • Optimizing existing harness design by researching for better and more cost effective materials and connectors, downsizing wires if possible.


You may be required occasionally to perform additional duties which include:

  • Creation of schematics and 2D drawings.
  • Supporting prototype harness workshop; preparing BOMs, harness production boards, harness build and installation manuals.
  • Electrical fault finding on the Lab Car, jigs and on the vehicles.
  • Supporting Electrical Integration engineers.
  • Reworking harnesses if required.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of electrical architectures of EVs.
  • Excellent understanding of best design and manufacturing practices for wiring harnesses.
  • Experience in bringing prototype solutions into high volume production with Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Experience in harness DVP and DFMEA.
  • Over 5 years of experience in designing Automotive harnesses (Schematics + 2D drawings).
  • Understanding of EDS design and development process.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Candidates must have ILR to live and work in the UK. REE do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships.
