Senior Design Engineer
About The Position
REE is revolutionizing e-Mobility from the ground-up. Our disruptive REE-corners and fully flat, ultra-modular EV platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission specific EVs, EVs ‘Powered by REE’ will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo and batteries with the smallest footprint and help reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.
We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to support REE’s rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
- Design of components from concept through to delivery
- Using 3D Experience (Catia V6) as a design tool
- Designing in context by liaising with other component engineers and package engineers
- Carrying out DFM loops with supplier.
- Working with supplier to ensure design is cost and weight effective.
- Working with CAE team to ensure a structurally sound design.
- Component material selection
- Using Simulia (within 3D Experience) for localised FEA studies
- Liaising with other underbody and top hat functional teams to ensure robust integration of their systems.
- PLM (product lifecycle management) tasks
- Importing supplier data
- Processing change requests
- Support prototype build issues from onsite as required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience of full component design and delivery
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- The ability to develop relationships with suppliers and internal team members.
- Experience of designing castings, pressed components, sheet metal parts and welded and bolted assemblies.
- A working knowledge of GD & T’s to BS8888
- Experience in suspension, thermal or structures component design would be advantageous.
- Commercial vehicles experience an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer is required
