Suspension Systems Lead Engineer
About The Position
REE is changing the electric mobility and aims at becoming the standard for EVs.
We work with leading automotive players worldwide and technology companies to ensure the development, engineering and manufacturing.
We are currently looking for an experienced Chassis Suspension Systems Lead Engineer to support REE’s rapid growth.
Responsible for the delivery of the suspension systems (control arms, springs/dampers assembly and related components) which meet program-specific targets including functional performance, quality, cost, and timing.
Develop and monitoring technical targets for integrating design, CAE, development, legal and performance criteria.
Responsible for population and maintenance for suspension systems BOM’s in PLM, and content.
Owns mechanical inputs into suspension system specifications.
Responsible for suspension system DFMEA.
Provides input into mechanical DVP requirements.
Responsible for technical Interface to suspension system suppliers, surrounding systems/aggregates owners including packaging.
To provide support to other aggregates in the business to achieve release deadlines.
Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost, and weight.
Degree in Engineering, Science, related discipline or equivalent
Several years of experience of working in a complex and similar engineering environment
Have proven experience of developing and delivering chassis suspension system from concept to production within an OEM or tier 1 organization.
Possess good understanding of suspension system attributes, service implications, and manufacturing and assembly requirements.
A good knowledge of rig validation methods and vehicle structural testing is an advantage.
Understand what influence suspension system design has upon the overall dynamic behaviour of the vehicle.
Have a good all-round engineering knowledge, i.e. material selection, tolerancing, FEA analysis, component manufacturing processes, quality control, etc.
Experience of other chassis systems/components at concept level is an advantage.
Dynamic package analysis using kinematics.
Project planning, DFMEA, DFA, DFM experience
Managing workload in a fast-paced environment with potential for changing priorities.
Working experience of Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Excel and Word
Be a team player with the ability to work alongside talented colleagues as part of a driven and dedicated team
