Instrumentation Lead Prototype Technician
About The Position
REE is revolutionizing e-Mobility from the ground-up. Our disruptive REE-corners and fully flat, ultra-modular EV platforms are set to become the standard for electric vehicles. Providing complete design freedom to build mission specific EVs, EVs ‘Powered by REE’ will provide maximum room for passengers, cargo and batteries with the smallest footprint and help reduce carbon emissions for a greener world.
We are currently looking for an experienced Instrumentation Lead Prototype Technician to support REE’s rapid growth.
The primary function of the instrumentation lead prototype technician is to lead all instrumentation activities for prototype builds at both component, sub assembly, and test mule vehicle level. The role is also expected to support test work and properties whilst on test both in the UK and abroad if required.
Extensive experience in low volume prototype builds.
Proficient in many aspects of instrumentation assemblies especially but not limited to;
Bespoke instrumentation installation into a variety of electric vehicle areas such as corner unit assys, test mule chassis, battery packs, electric motors etc
Thermal, strain gauge, and pressure sensing equipment and installation
Data acquisition methods and processes
Accelerometer and GPS measuring equipment
RLD instrumentation and data gathering at test mule level
Experience of both low and high voltage vehicle systems and their interaction with prototype vehicle builds.
HV senior authorised person trained (or equivalent) desirable, HV authorised person (or equivalent) is essential.
Competent at soldering at connector and PCB level.
Ability to read, interpret, and question electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
Ability to perform basic measurement and inspection tasks both at component and assembly level
Comfortable giving direction and instructions for activities of other junior technicians.
Motor vehicle qualification to secondary level desirable.
Basic digital buck experience desirable.
Familiarity with test vehicle commissioning and shakedown processes / procedures.
Understanding of component and vehicle level DVP testing and data gathering desirable.
Comfortable giving direction and instructions to technicians.
Proficient with basic Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Full UK driving licence ideally with ability to drive up to and including category C1-E desirable.
UK passport or equivalent and willingness to travel occasionally as the business requires.
